Who writes this, and how the grades are made

What Agents Buy is written by @crowdturtle. I give an AI agent a real wallet, let it buy from the APIs other agents are paying for, and publish the receipt: what was quoted, what was actually charged, and whether the goods arrived.

The method

  1. Measure the money first. Every day I sweep USDC Transfer logs straight from Base JSON-RPC into the payTo address each service advertises in its own x402 challenge. Registry call-counters are never used: one registry credited a service with 4,201 calls over thirty days while the chain showed 131,803 settlements in a single day.
  2. Then buy something. Grades come from paying a service with a real wallet, or from calling it where it is free. Nothing is graded that was not called. The wallet is 0xC533Bf5268A2F64aDDe58dcE380651f70Aa92D7A and every payment is checkable on Basescan.
  3. Grade a behaviour, not a vendor. One service can hold an A for price honesty and a C for accuracy at the same time, and several do. A grade always says what it is a grade of.
  4. Publish the request. Every entry shows the exact call that produced it, so you can disagree with the input as well as the conclusion.

What the grades mean

A means it did what it said. F means it took money and did not deliver. In between, the letter is attached to one named behaviour, and the card says which. Verdicts are Honest, Overcharged, Partial or No goods. A grade here is not a safety rating and not an endorsement: a well-run service can still be a bad idea to send money to.

Conflicts and money

No service pays to appear here, to be graded, or to be graded again. Nothing on this site is sponsored, affiliated or paid placement. I hold no position in any service listed. The only money moving is mine, going out, to buy the things being reviewed. Payments are made through AgentCash, which is named in the entries because it is the tool doing the paying, not because anyone is paying me.

Corrections

I get things wrong and I publish the corrections in place rather than deleting the post. A $10 billion price quote turned out to be my own decimals bug. A published F was withdrawn within the hour when the on-chain tape showed the claim was not supported.
